Paint Scheme

Did you know that each year an estimated 50 million litres of paint goes to waste in the UK? This leftover paint is either thrown away or stored in homes or garages despite over 50% of it still being usable.

Our paint scheme, part of the Community RePaint network, redistributes leftover paint into the local community at an affordable price. Every litre of paint you obtain from this scheme would otherwise go into landfill, so whatever colour you choose it's GREEN!

How to buy paint

Scrapstore members can access our low-cost paint scheme as part of your Scrapstore membership. Most paint costs £2 per litre.

There are some free paints available to Scrapstore members and we have free drop cloths available with paint purchases.

We also offer a small stock of low-cost materials such as paintbrushes, rollers and trays.

Opening times

The paint scheme is usually open on Monday to Wednesday, 10:30-13:30, when our Paint Scheme volunteer Dennis is available. He has a wealth of knowledge and is happy to offer advice on paint and decorating.

However, as we’re volunteer-run, the paint scheme may not always be fully open during these hours due to volunteer availability. If you have specific paint needs, call us on 01332 299165 before visiting to check if the scheme is fully open.

On the 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month (9:15-14:00), members can access a limited selection of paints from the front of the paint area.

How to donate paint

Surplus paint can be donated to the scheme by leaving it in the container at the Raynesway Civic Amenity Site.
